SEATTLE - Luxury retailer Nordstrom Inc., which plans to open a store at Kenwood Towne Centre, on Thursday reported a slim fiscal second-quarter profit gain as expenses related to the company's credit card business cut into solid sales. Earnings for the quarter ended Aug. 4 rose to $180.4 million, or 71 cents per share, from $178.8 million, or 67 cents per share during the same period last year.
