NEW YORK -- The total amount of outstanding commercial paper fell sharply in the week to Wednesday, according to Federal Reserve data, the latest sign of the strain this market has been under amid recent turmoil in the credit market. The latest Fed data, released Thursday, showed that the total outstanding amount of commercial paper fell $90.
