FTSE opens higher (Investors Chronicle)

London equities moved higher in opening trade on Thursday, helped by buoyant financial stocks and fresh bid talk. The FTSE 100 started the session 0.5 per cent stronger at 6,712, a rise of 35 points. Mid-cap engineering stocks helped the FTSE 250 gain 37 points or 0.3 per cent, taking it to 11,575.
